Built by Duffer Golf
“Tested by thousands of bad shots.”
Three years in the making
The Duffer Golf simulator was built the hard way: by pounding thousands of golf balls into prototypes until we figured out what actually works for real golfers. And honestly… we broke a lot of stuff along the way.
Early versions ripped stitching apart under repeated impact. So we went back to the drawing board and reinforced the high stress corners with seatbelt webbing paired with rugged military grade fabric. Now, 180 mph ball speeds are no match for the Duffer.
Flooring that finally made sense.
The flooring went through just as many revisions. We started with a roll up carpet system. It stopped golf balls from bouncing out of the enclosure, but after being rolled up against the garage wall, it never wanted to lay flat again. Next came 2”x2” turf tiles. They stored well, but setup took too long. Eventually, we landed on larger 2”x4
turf tiles- simplifying the entire floor system down to just six tiles that install in seconds. They store neatly in our Turf Wall bungee pouch system and stay flat while in storage mode.
The “Topped shot problem”.
One thing we discovered during testing was that topped shots from us average duffers had a nasty habit of rebounding off the lower steel rod attached to the impact screen. So we fixed it. Our patent-pending wedge flooring system uses two thick 3 inch ramp tiles positioned directly in front of the impact screen. This creates a smooth incline that hides the bottom support bar below turf level and dramatically reduces ball rebound. Problem solved.
Realistic turf without beating up your body.
We tested a pile of hitting amts. Some were too hard. Some punished your elbows, wrists, and shoulders after a practice session. Others felt fake and unrealistic.
The Duffer Stance mat is thick, soft, and made from durable nylon turf that accepts real tees. (Although we honestly dont recommend real tees idoors unless you enjoy stepping on splinters and hunting flying tees around your garage.) Thats why we include durable rubber tes with every setup. Golfers consistentl tell us that mat feels like”standing on a real fairway.” Its forgiving enough to pratice comfortably, but realistic enough to let you know when you hit a fat shot. For right- and left- handed setups, we also offer a larger 5”x8” hitting mat option.
Why we built this.
I love golf. I wanted a simulator. but like a lot of people, i didn’t have a dedicated room where i could permanently leave one set up. Most “storable” golf simulators we found felt overly complicated - tracks, motors, Velcro everywhere, and complicated setups that still left gaps between the impact screen and sidewall protection. That never felt safe to me for the average golfer… especially the average duffer. So we built something different. At Duffer Golf, the impact screen connects directly into the sidewall protection to help keep golf balls contained. We also built in generous ceiling and side protection because, lets face it… were all going to need it a few times per round. Built for real golfers. The Duffer Golf Simulator was designed to store cleanly in a garage, set up quickly, and survive real-world use from real golfers. No fancy showroom swings required. Just golf. I’d bet the average person can have our simulator assembled and hitting golf balls in under an hour. Most importantly, I believe in customer service, and we genuinely appreciate the opportunity to help your family enjoy indoor golf at home with a Duffer Golf Simulator.
